Product FAQ
Straight answers about NetEqualizer.
The essentials on deployment, encrypted traffic, fairness, maintenance, and scale.
What problem does NetEqualizer solve?
It keeps a busy internet or WAN link responsive by preventing sustained heavy flows from crowding out interactive traffic.
Does it need to identify every application?
No. NetEqualizer primarily responds to traffic behavior, so it does not depend on an always-current signature library.
Can it shape inbound and outbound traffic?
Yes. Inline deployment lets the appliance manage traffic in both directions.
What happens when the link is not congested?
Equalizing stays out of the way. Controls become active as demand approaches the configured link capacity.
Can we create bandwidth limits?
Yes. Pools and limits can be organized by IP, subnet, VLAN, pool, or MAC address, depending on configuration.
Does it support IPv6 reporting?
The Dynamic Real-Time Reporting interface includes IPv4 and IPv6 traffic visibility.
How much ongoing maintenance is required?
The behavior-based approach is designed for low maintenance. Normal operation does not depend on continuous application-rule tuning.
How do we choose a model?
Link speed, topology, interface type, and redundancy determine the best fit. Sales can review these details with you.
